Team - La Ultra
Chetan Sehgal
Chetan Sehgal is part of the La Ultra team since 2012. His love for running, mountains and adventure is what got him HIGH with La Ultra. Chetan take pleasure in putting all the pieces together that make not only this race, but every other running event we do, awesome! Dr. Rajat often calls Chetan ‘full time at La Ultra‘ 🙂 It is hard for people to accept but it actually takes round the year work to do all that we do. Chetan have been running, trekking and exploring routes in the Himalayas for over 10 years and it’s all the experience and passion that he like to bring to everything we do at La Ultra, because it deserves nothing less.

Tsewang Namgyal (Nono)
Nono was in a boarding school since the age of 5 years. His family lived in Stok Palace till 25 years ago as it’s his maternal uncle who is the erstwhile king of Leh. He is a chef by profession and was an avid rock climber, enjoys expeditions and has done a few peaks which include Stok Kangri twice, Goleb Kangri, Kangyetse and Mentok Kangri all once. Besides that he has done a few treks. He has been involved in tourism since 2010. He started a camp at Pangong lake in 2017. He stared a restaurant in 2021 and is now planning another one.
He has been part of the La Ultra core team since 2011, and La Ultra has a lot of respect for all marathon runners because as a kid in boarding school, like all other kids there, he was made to run for school and houses, and the fear of being whacked was the motivation. He was stubborn enough to still not do it, but in the last 10 years he has seen miraculous levels of human endurance, strength, willpower and stubbornness.
For La Ultra – April 2022 edition, Nono has put in tremendous amount of work and along with Jimmy is the grounds of feet in Leh.

Jigme Stanzin (Jimmy)
Jimmy considers himself blessed to be born in the lap of the land of high passes.
He was born in Leh in the neighbourhood of guest houses and restaurants which were among the first to open in Leh. His upbringing was among tourists, mainly foreign tourists. Earlier there weren’t many domestic tourists in Ladakh. In his own family two of his uncles were in the tourism industry and their company is amongst the few travel companies of those times. He used to join their groups of trekkers and that’s how his exploration journey started. His love for mountains took him to the hidden corners of Ladakh and its neighbouring places Himachal and Kashmir, be it trekking, biking, or expedition. He managed to do it. Among the places he explored in Ladakh, Zanskar has his heart. The land is all about mountains & monasteries.

Apart from mountains, he has been working as a cultural guide for a Swiss travel company that has regular groups to Ladakh and he was able to do this job because of his keen interest in Buddhist philosophy and the history of the land.
After nine years of constant traveling, he started his own travel company, Cloud Kingdom Ladakh, in 2018 where his edge is in making tailor-made journeys based on his own experiences.
Jimmy has been part of the La Ultra core team since 2011 and along with Nono, has put all the things in place for La Ultra – April 2022 edition.
