LA ULTRA FEST

La Ultra in its new avatar is a lot bigger than just a run of whatever distance. Ladakh has adopted La Ultra for a decade and it’s now time to take that relationship to the next level.

We’ve made an itinerary that introduces all to culture and heritage of Ladakh unlike before.

LaDakh Ultra Fest

You’ll have an experience of the royal dynasty and get to know Ladakh history through the members of the erstwhile royal family of Shey, a guided tour of the Palace, heritage walk in old town and visit Alchi, the oldest monastery in Ladakh also known as Ajanta of Himalayas. You’ll also attend an exhibition polo match played the traditional way and classical archery challenge, both specially organised for you, besides going to Khardung La and Wari La.

LaDakh Ultra Runs

This isn’t a race against anyone. It’s a run where your layers will peel off and you’ll get to know your true self. You need to have done by 28th February 2022 whatever distance (11, 22, 33, 55 or 111 k) you want to take part in. You don’t necessarily have to do it in a race. Share detailed km by km data from Garmin or any other app, and that’ll be enough.

High Altitude Sickness can be fatal if we don’t respect it. For that reason it is mandatory to get to Leh at least by the dates mentioned. It is for your own safety and it’s non-negotiable.

Ladakh Run Registration

Registration for Run is open for all categories (11, 22, 33, 55 and 111 Km). Find below the fee structure for domestic and international participants.

Registration fee: This covers your race. Travel to the race is separate because some people might want to take a taxi, a minibus or a big bus. We don’t want to impose our choice of transport.

USD prices: La Ultra initially seemed to be a run organised by Indians, for foreigners because no Indians were qualifying for it. Now we clearly want to focus on Indian participation, so we have reduced prices for you. For foreigners have prices we would have charged in any case. Of course, we would love to have them at La Ultra too. This doesn’t include the adventure cover. We’ll soon be updating for foreign participants.

Domestic Adventure Cover

Us opening up La Ultra, which has been called the cruelest race in the world, to everyone by introducing 11, 22, 33, 55 and 111 km categories, we need to be aware that our success is in getting all you in good health back to your loved ones. We need to be aware that High Altitude Sickness can be affect any of us. We will not risk anyone. Also, in these COVID times, as much as we all are trying to be optimistic and get back to our lives, realistically, we have no clue what the future holds for us. This cover will address trip (event) cancellations, interruptions and delays. It’ll cover checked-in baggage loss, delay and even missed connections.

Hotel / Guest-house Bookings

April is still cold in Leh, temperatures during the day time being in single digits at best and at night dipping to minus 5°-7° C. Also, hotels are just about opening up. For that reason, we have decided to make a list of hotels and guest-houses that will be well equipped to address those conditions and make your stay as comfortable as a possible. Travel planning (stay and taxi) independent of Fest

We’ll be happy to help in planning your travel planning even if you decide not to be part of the Fest. Details of this will be released later.
